Publisher: Roth Horowitz LLC
Measurements: 0.00 x 0.00 cm

Oblong 8vo, (205 x 231 mm.), pp. [40]. 17 black-and-white photographs, design by Jerry Kelly and Andrew Roth. Original black paper-covered boards, coloured lettering to upper side, black imitation cloth spine. No dust-jacket as issued. Publisher’s slip laid in. A fine copy.

First edition limited to 1000 copies. Made in 1968 these previously unpublished photographs form Adams’ earliest body of work. They depict Eden a small truck stop in Colorado named after a railway official and not the biblical paradise. Aside from the casual greetings of the waitress in the café, Adams refers to Eden as ‘a place without human gentleness. The air is weighted by the sound of traffic.’
