Georg Baselitz. Back Then, In Between, and Today

This book on the work of Georg Baselitz presents a series of paintings alongside bronze sculptures that were created during the same period, revealing the defining features of the artist’s work—reinterpretation and critical examination.\nOne of the themes throughout Baselitz’s long career is the idea that history repeats itself. This enlightening volume shows how, in his series “The Black Paintings,” which focuses on the motif of the eagle, the renowned painter and sculptor applies that idea to his earlier work.
