This catalogue is one of two volumes published on the occasion of an exhibition at Art Museum in Lugano (May-September 2009) devoted to the work of Yves Klein and his partner Rotraut Uecker, whon shared his poetic sensibility.
This volume offers a complete overview of Yves Klein’s output and includes the important cycles: Anthropometries, Peintures de Feu and Monochromes. Like a meteor, Yves Klein crossed the art scene for just a few, short years before his death in 1962. But he was a major figure in the aesthetic revolution which took place in the 1950’s, one of the principal members of Nouveau Réalisme, and a significant forerunner of postwar monochromatism.
