In the hours of virtual images, Gilbert Garcin tinkers with small stagings with three times nothing, glue, scissors, some poor materials. He multiplies the winks, diverts references, we could say that he has fun. It’s the opposite: he plays. Gilbert Garcin is the subject and object of his own images. This detour by oneself would be a continual return on oneself?
To disguise himself in an omnipresent character, to invent improbable adventures in surrealistic settings, the incorrigible man continues to laugh at himself. The photograph becomes “the image of which I am the hero”, multiplying the episodes of a comic illusion constantly renewed.
