Lírica Urbana ( Urban Lyrics ) tours the work of one of the most wellknown American woman photographers, Helen Levitt ( New York, 19 13-2009 ). She become famous for her street photographs, which portrayed everyday life in New York and that great city´s private side. The book showsa black-and-white Manhattan and another facet of the artist, the colour slides she took during the last stage of her career. Finally, it also offers her impressions of a trip to Mexico in 1941 in an almost unknown documentary series. The volume is designed as a new interpretation of her essential work, ” A Way of Seeing”, from the viewpoints expressed in texts by Alan Trachtenberg, Jean-François Chevrier and Jorge Ribalta. Throughout her life, Helen Levitt was concerned with human interaction and for decades she pursued the enigmas enclosed in everything urban.
