Fellini, dream and design brings us closer to the vital and cinematographic universe of the filmmaker Federico Fellini, director of classics such as La dolce vita, Amarcord or Casanova, and he does so through the sketches, drawings and scripts of three cinematographic advertisements that he shot shortly before his death, taking his dreams as privileged material. Indeed, Fellini not only spent his whole life drawing with delight, even, as a young man, he thought of dedicating himself professionally to illustration and painting? but, from a very early age, he took the habit of writing down his dreams with texts and drawings every morning. In this precious and exuberant dream material he would find inspiration for many of his creations. The film critic Gianfranco Angelucci coordinates this volume, and with his texts brings us closer to Fellini’s cinematographic and graphic work and, specifically, to the three spots that he shot in 1993 for the Banco de Roma and that somehow constitute his filmographic testament. Also contributing to this volume are film critic Tullio Kezich, actors Anna Falchi and Paolo Villagio, and psychiatrist Vittorino Andreoli. Angelucci also interviews Antonello Geleng, a good friend of the filmmaker, to whom he gave an extensive collection of drawings that are reproduced in this volume.
