Rem Koolhaas is the optimistic avant-gardist and bold theoretician of contemporary architecture. The book allows to look at Koolhaasb role as counsellor for the EU, as well as his views on architecture as metaphor and on the development of urbanism in the slipstream of globalization. Rem Koolhaas founded the architectural firm Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in 1975 together with Madelon Vriesedorp, Elia Zenghelis, and Zorp Zenghelis. Before training as an architect, he worked as a journalist and advertising copywriter.
