Ivorypress at Pinta London. Booth D-13

4 / 06 / 2013

Between 4 and 7 June Ivorypress will participate in the contemporary art fair Pinta. The show, which centres on Latin American artists, also includes the work of Portuguese and Spanish artists, as a reflection of the mutual influence between these countries and Latin America.

To this end, the Ivorypress booth will show a selection of sculptures, canvases and works on paper by Portuguese artist Pedro Cabrita Reis, Cuban duo Los Carpinteros and Spanish artists Cristina Iglesias, Juan Uslé, Victoria Civera and Jerónimo Elespe.

Particularly worthy of mention is the installation Patas de rana turquesa, size S (2010), by Los Carpinteros, who will also be presenting Reunión II (2011) at the fair, a work on paper that relates to the previous installation as part of a reflection on the idea of collectivity. The third piece that will be shown by these Cuban artists is Lámpara de mesa I (2013), which broaches the subject of the deconstruction of objects from a humorous point of view.

Another highlight from Ivorypress Space will be the work Les couleurs suite, les magentas #1 (2012) by Pedro Cabrita Reis, made of aluminium, double-laminated glass and acrylic on raw canvas; a work that relates to his most sculptural work using found industrial and construction materials. Coinciding with the fair, Pedro Cabrita Reis’s project a remote whisper will open as a Collateral Event of the 55th Venice Biennale.

In addition, Ivorypress’s booth will be displaying two works by Cristina Iglesias screen-printed on green silk, and canvas works by Victoria Civera and Juan Uslé as well as a triptych by the young artist Jerónimo Elespe, made with oil on aluminium—all of them Spanish artists who are internationally acclaimed.

In brief, Ivorypress will be present as an art gallery in this edition of the Pinta art show to continue promoting the artists with whom they work and to afford them greater visibility within the international contemporary art scene.
