PARK, THE MAGAZINE

8 / 01 / 2020

On 23 January Ivorypress hosted the launch of Park, the Magazine by Clase BCN. The event was attended by the artists Andrea González and Fermín Jiménez Landa, in conversation with Edu Piracés, editor of the magazine.

Park is a biannual paper publication edited, designed and published by Clase —a design and creative direction studio in Barcelona— working in collaboration with professionals around the world. Each issue explores a broad concept through different points of view and multidisciplinary collaborations. Park presents the curious, the playful and the occasionally esoteric insights of contributors to a chosen theme.

Parks play a significant role in our societies. People have always perceived parks as a place to evade reality, gather, play, hide, think, run, have sex, spy on others, wander around, orate, write, conspire, protest, murder, plant and breathe. For us, Park, the Magazine is a space to experiment, create, read, write, learn, design, collaborate and have fun.

Each Park issue digs and delves into a different subject. The first, Copy Park, takes a close look at the concept of ‘copy’, covering a variety of areas ranging from surgery to recipes, including artificial intelligence and mimesis in nature.

Clase is a design and communication studio based in Barcelona. We develop identities and creative direction for clients from different fields, such as fashion, furniture design, art, gastronomy and more. We seek to find their essence in order to create a unique voice and a particular language for each project, adding value to brands. From strategy to the final output, we create solutions that are both conceptually and visually rich.

The studio, founded by Claret Serrahima, combines more than 30 years of experience with the contemporary vision of the newer generations. The team consists of professionals who, outside the studio, develop their own interests as musicians, editors or teachers. Clase has a cultural approach to a commercial environment that takes projects into reflection, experimentation and formal quality.

So far we’ve had the pleasure to work with clients from an array of professional fields, such as furniture design, culture, fashion, gastronomy, among many others. Some of our clients are: Arper, Enea, Macba, Palau de la música, Pedro García, Universitat Pompeu Fabra or Vibia, among others.
