Recycling Madrid «Abalos and Herreros»

This book presents unusual projects, techniques and places seeking to materialise a vision of the contemporary city through which to recycle established convictions regarding architecture and the role of the architect. Madrid appears here as a metaphor for the world, a privileged space to try out new ways of understanding the limits between the public and private, natural and artificial, identity and fusion. The works by Ábalos & Herreros featured in this book are the Recycling Plant for Urban Refuse, the landscaping of the former Madrid rubbish tip, Villa en la Colina de los Chopos, the Municipal Hall and plaza in Colmenarejo.
