Last Year’s Phptographs

This set of 38 of photographs by the Japanese photographer known as Araki was taken in 1975–1976. The images predominantly depict bustling street scenes in Tokyo; candid shots, made in his signature style, of everyday life and people moving through the city against a backdrop of modern buildings and advertising billboards, narrow lanes and broad boulevards. The book’s front and back covers replicate an old, used notebook produced by Mitsubishi Paper Mills.
