Yves Clerc
Yves Clerc was born on November 5th 1947. He took his first step in the world of the image through photography. Then, from 1967 to 1973 he studied sciences while going through an artistic training aimed at drawing. He published his first illustrations in medical journals. At the same time, he discovered theater and actively participated in the Nancy Theater Festival which determined his present thematic direction. From 1974 to 1976, Yves Clerc followed courses at Ecole des arts appliqués (applied arts school) and continue to draw illustrations around text for various journals: Pariscope (Parisian events weekly), Autrement (intellectual development quarterlyreview)… Faithful to his dual calling, he continued with graduate studies from 1978 to 1981 at Paris-VII University. For three years he frequented Zeimert’s studio and starting in 1985 participated in numerous personal exhibitions and collective ones: Anvers, Bordeaux, Nice, Paris, Pise, Saint-Petersbourg, Santander.
