Jason Nocito (b. Mineola, NY, 1974) photographs obsessively. His disparate images are then playfully sequenced, allowing for juxtapositions suggesting new meanings. The result is an eclectic perspective on the minutiae of the everyday, from the weird to the banal: a jelly donut, a TV antenna, a spill on the stairs, a cassette tape, a rock. He is a graduate of Parsons School of Design. His work has appeared in Fader, Nylon, Dazed & Confused, Vice, Blender, and the London Sunday Times. He lives and works in New York.\n\nAli Subotnick is curator at the Hammer Museum at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2006, Subotnick cocurated the fourth Berlin Biennial with her frequent collaborators artist Maurizio Cattelan and curator Massimiliano Gioni, with whom she also founded The Wrong Gallery and the publication series Charley.
