Claes Oldenburg & Coosje van Bruggen. The European Desktop. Exhibition Guide

This exhibition guide accompanies the show The European Desktop, which took place at Ivorypress from 16 February to 17 April 2010. The work was made by Claes Oldenburg and his late wife, Coosje van Bruggen in 1990. It is comprised of a number of drawings and sculptures, desktop accoutrements, all of which appear to have fallen from the sky. It is a play on historical skirmishes for national boundaries and the displacement of European cultures. The prophetic spirit of The European Desktop now seems uncanny.
