This toy, made of pear wood, was created by Bruno Munari in 1945. “The MC1 Architecture Box contains a series of ‘bricks’ of different shapes. Put together differentely, you can make any number of buildings, from houses to churches, ancient castles to modern garages, hotel, skyscrapers, factories, towers, aqueducts, temples, stations, hangars, pile dwellings, houses with porticoes, balconies, terraces, etc. The booklet contains over sixty examples which can be multiplied by the imagination of whoever is playing with them. […] It is extremely easy to start playing and you won’t want to stop. Each time you put one of these many-faceted bricks next to another, even at random, a new idea will come into your head for another building.”
