Anish Kapoor (born in 1954) is one of the major figures of contemporary art. He is the author of sculptures exhibited in public places around the world, such as CLOUD GATE (2004, Millenium Park, Chicago), SKY MIRROR (2006, Rockefeller Center, New York) and TARATANTARA (1999-2000, Gateshead and Naples) ). Anish Kapoor has received numerous awards, including the Turner Prize (1991). Using a wide range of materials, traditional (alabaster, sandstone) or very modern (polished steel, PVC), Kapoor has created a unique set of concrete or abstract forms that have revolutionized contemporary sculpture. This monograph, covering more than thirty years of creation, is the largest ever devoted to the artist. It brings together hundreds of color illustrations, as well as models and diagrams of its most ambitious projects. The book also offers a complete and detailed chronology of the artist’s life illustrated with photographs, sketches and documents, some of them unpublished.
