Launch of Real Venice, second volume of C Photo Collection

7 / 06 / 2011

On 7 June 2011, at 6 p.m., Ivorypress launched the second volume of C Photo Collection at Ivorypress Space II. For this issue, Ivorypress promoted an initiative in collaboration with the Venice in Peril Foundation. Fourteen artists were asked to create a series of photographic works about Venice, which they then donated to Venice in Peril to be sold to raise funds to preserve the city from decay.

These photographic projects comprised the Real Venice exhibition, which were shown as part of the 54th Venice Biennale. They were also illustrated in this volume, together with a selection of essays that underline the long-standing relationship between Venice and photography. The presentations were given by Dionisio González (visual artist and Professor at the University of Seville), Antonio Sanz (director of Ivorypress), and Iñaki Domingo (publications coordinator of Ivorypress and co-editor of C Photo).
