MoMA Artists’ Books

On 23 February Ivorypress presented two exhibitions: Gravity, by British artist Richard Long (Bristol, 1945), and an exhibition of the artists’ books published by the Library Council of New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Ivorypress exhibited the collection of artists’ books of MoMA’s Library Council. The publications on show will be those by Beatriz Milhazes; Vija Celmins and Eliot Weinberger; Gabriel Orozco; Joëlle Tuerlinckx; Olafur Eliasson; Doug Aitken; Yun-Fei Ji; Abelardo Morell; Ted Muehling and Oliver Sacks; Ranjani Shettar and Anita Desai; Annette Messager and Jean-Philippe Toussaint, and R. H. Quaytman and Susan Howe, as well as the new artist’s book by Argentinean artist Guillermo Kuitca.

In conjunction with this exhibition there was held a panel discussion on 25 February at 11:00 a.m. by Milan Hughston, director of MoMA’s Library Council; May Castleberry, editor of contemporary editions of MoMA’s Library Council; Luis Pérez-Oramas, Estrellita B. Brodsky Curator of Latin American Art at MoMA, and artists Richard Long and Guillermo Kuitca. The panel discussion was moderated by Elena Ochoa Foster, publisher and founder of Ivorypress.
