Her work is the result of her emotional as well as intellectual responses to some of the most iconic modernist buildings of the 20th Century, designed by architects such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Oscar Niemeyer, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Luis Barragan and Giuseppe Terragni, among others. Instead of focusing on an objective representation of these spaces, as in traditional architectural photography, Lambri’s work approaches its subjects from an entirely personal point of view. The visual language utilized by Lambri when focusing on particular details of the architectural structures often evokes abstract geometric painting or minimalist sculpture.

It has been noted that the artist primarily focuses on residential architecture, which reveals Lambri’s interest in the relationship that exists between us and the spaces we inhabit.
The results are photographs that can be seen as psychological portraits of the artist; they are not visual records of modernist architecture but expressive episodes in which the artist’s creativity connects with the intimacy of her own life. Architecture is seen as a space of constraints, oppression and dominance that the artist is trying to escape by deconstructing it in highly subtle and ephemeral ways. For the Ivorypress Space I exhibition, the artist took a new series of photographs of the Turegano House in Madrid, by Alberto Campo Baeza. A catalogue with texts by Walead Beshty, Douglas Fogle, Massimiliano Gioni, Adriano Pedrosa and SANAA will be available.
