Ivorypress invited you to the presentation and exhibition of the graphic research projects conducted by students of the School of Design in Madrid about the codex El Beato de Facundo. Designer Alberto Corazón and editor Gonzalo Golpe will advise young designers and critique several of their in order to make the final outline of the next exhibition that will be hosted by Spain’s National Library in September.

El Beato de Facundo, also known as Beato de Fernando I y doña Sancha, is one of the most beautiful and important Beatos (illustrated codexes about the Apocalypse written by Saint Beatus of Liébana) in existence today. In October 2015 UNESCO included several of the Beatos preserved by Spain’s National Library as Memory of the World, a special protection and recognition, not only for its historical value in the cultural contexts of origin, but because of its importance and significance for the history of mankind. El Beato de Facundo is perhaps the most beautiful of the Beatos preserved by the National Library, with ninety-eight miniatures.

The students of Madrid’s Escuela Superior de Diseño have studied this spectacular edition, which is available to everyone on National Library’s website, and have produced works ranging from photobooks to posters, games and art projects of very different formats.
