Moriyama, a major figure in 20th and 21st century Japanese photography, continues the personal journey of his ‘Record’ series. No.16 sees Moriyama take on New York. Icy, dirty Manhattan is captured in all its grainy glory by the wandering Moriyama, let loose in the homeland of some of his heroes – Kerouac, Warhol, James Baldwin. The end result is part street reportage, part fan letter to a beloved city.
