Paulo Mendes da Rocha: Bauten und Projekte / Works and Projects
Pritzker Prize-winning Brazilian architect Paul Mendes da Rocha has forged a body of work whose creative power stands out above the more ephemeral currents of the day. His career began in the 1950s as part of the São Paulo avant-garde, known loosely as creators of the Paulist brutalist architecture. He is now considered Brazils most outstanding architect, and has steadfastly devoted his career to the creation of buildings and spaces guided by a sense of responsibility to people and society as a whole. This book, the first comprehensive monograph on Mendes, includes a complete list of works, and reproduces a selection of his most important buildings and projects, accompanied by drawings, sketches and photographs.
