MOTO
The book consists of two parts: the first, in matte paper, gathers images from 1975 including the first photograph that Alberto García-Alix took during a motocross race in which his brother was taking to 2007; the second part of the book, on glossy paper, includes a new block of unreleased photographs, with which the author, seeking its limits, initiates a renewed photographic discourse on the bike, by the more abstract and allegorical use of the image.
It is, in short, a set of photographs that transport the beauty and care with which García-Alix has portrayed his life tied to the bike.
In the center of the book, accompanying the images, there is an autobiographical text in which Alberto García-Alix tells a bunch of experiences and stories, told as only a true biker can do, that leaves the reader wanting to pull a wheelie and to become intoxicated by the smell of castor oil and the roar of engines .
