Man Ray. The Fifty Faces of Juliet
In collaboration with Fondazione Marconi in Milan, Carlo Cambi Editore publishes a special artists book in the occasion of the exhibition Man Ray. The Fifty Faces of Juliet at the Lu.C.C.A. – Lucca Center of Contemporary Art.
Fifty portraits dedicated by the artist to his wife, Juliet Browner, between 1941 and 1955. The Fifty Faces of Juliet were ideated by Man Ray at the beginning of the Fifties as an homage to the muse of his life, but also as a book of photographic works started in 1941 in Los Angeles. Fifty original images in different techniques and styles reproduced for the first time in this anastatic full-scale edition.
Man Ray is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century: he explored photography as well as film, painting, sculpture, collage, assemblage and prototypes. In his honour not a simple catalogue is published, but a precious book reproducing The Fifty Faces of Juliet in a new elegant layout.
