First edition. Les Erotiques du Regard ‘is a frank meditation on the male gaze, an essay in pictures and a kind of concrete poetry where the typography has equal status with the imagery. Unlike many of the so-called erotic books from the 1960s – the ‘Free Love’ era – Les Erotiques manages to examine the phenomenon of the male gaze, whilst at the same time doing the classically male thing of gazing’ (Parr).
