Even though some of these pictures only capture parts of horses, they powerfully convey the essence and the instinctive qualities of these animals.
Horses communicate via their clear and direct body language, which is very immediate; they hold up a mirror to the humans around them. The horse integrates itself naturally into every setting and communicates its connection to the earth.
In the work of Czech photographer Jitka Hanzlová, the act of photography takes place in a brief, intuitive moment and marks a high point, yet precedes an emotional moment and holds in it the whole period of dialogue between human and animal.
