Fear eats the soul
Following onestar press inaugural tray project by Lawrence Weiner, we are proud to present Rirkrit Tiravanijas FEAR EATS THE SOUL.
Here Tiravanija has appropriated his text from the title of Rainer Werner Fassbinders Ali: Fear Eats the Soul a film which still resonates today with its vibrant questions of race and class raised in 1970s Germany.
The 4-worded phrase used by Rirkrit literally serves as a cornerstone of his artistic practice, using appropriated language to underscore the exploration between art and food, and now perfectly encapsulated in a fiberglass tray produced by Cambro, Huntington Beach, CA U.S.A.
