El poder de la duda
Art is an imaginative, but also realistic way to approach and question the world. This book superposes site-specific installations and works in various new and old media and somehow rooted in photography as a model of perception. These works embody the need to doubt the mainstream of seeing. Most of the artists are from regions of China or Eastern Europe which have experienced drastic changes from communism to capitalism where people continue to negotiate the options of life between a colonial legacy and present-day geopolitical conflicts. With very diverse interest in artistic and intellectual pursuits, the artists give voice to the collective doubts and the desires of their societies. Images of Hamra Abbas, Adel Abdessemed, Thierry Fontaine, Shaun Gladwell, Dan Perjovschi, Nedko & Dimitar Solakov, Sun Xun and others. Edited and organized by Hou Hanru.
