French taste is a project that, far from being constructed as a closed discourse, aims to open new lines of knowledge regarding the presence of Gallic art in Spain during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a period in which both cultures intermingled and are closely related. The nearly one hundred and ten works that are presented all come from public and private collections on the Peninsula, and therefore are works of Spanish heritage.

The exhibition has been conceived starting from the moment in which pieces of French art begin to arrive in our country, when France became the model of European taste, and it closes at the stage in which the opposite phenomenon occurs, when it is Spain which becomes a focus of attraction for French culture, due to the interest it arouses in the romantic imagination throughout the 19th century.
