David Wojnarowicz: La historia me quita el sueño
he Reina Sofia Museum hosts the exhibition dedicated to the artist David Wojnarowicz (New Jersey, USA, 1954-New York, USA, 1992) who, from the late 1970s to his untimely death in 1992 due to complications related to AIDS, made a work conceptually rigorous and stylistically diverse. His career combines a wide variety of forms, media and devices, among which are the use of photography as a narrative tool; the use of collage as a support for criticism and political positioning, relying on the poverty of the medium itself; the adoption of painting to explore different allegorical procedures, or the use of photomontage and text in order to address the queer and identity policies that also marked his role as an activist.
