In 2002, Adrian Tyler was commissioned to document the construction of a hotel that Frank O. Gehry had designed for the Marques de Riscal winery. The work he had to carry out fell within the classical formats of photographing architecture, but Tyler was able provide a vision of this that was both documentary and conceptual. The repetition of the same points of view that the pictures were taken from at various moments of the building process make it possible to see the architectural forms emerge and how they contain a landscape whose changes reinforce the idea of transience. The result is no longer the documentation of a work of architecture, but of the creation and development of a space that combines tradition and 21st century forms.
