Presentation: Secrets by Francesca Llopis
Ivorypress invites you to the presentation of the artist’s book SECRETS by Francesca Llopis next 10 of December at 7 pm at Ivorypress with the presence of the author and Santiago Olmo, curator and art critic who has written the text that appears in the edition.
How does an artist’s book happen? Which are the experiences that brought the artist to edit a work of art in the book format? Francesca Llopis, painter and video artist set in Barcelona, will tell us about the long and adventurous publishing trip. In 2009 Llopis visited Japan several times and took a series of photographs. SECRETS counters those photographs with paintings done between one trip and another, building an ensemble of 12 diptychs (photo and painting).
According to Llopis, the 12 diptychs dialogue with a 12 verse poem written by Nuria Martines Vernis. The book also contains a text by the curator and art critic Santiago Olmo where he talks about the curiosity of the book, the tendency to accumulate and the writing. The book is edited by the publisher Tinta Invisible, from Barcelona. During the presentation a video where Nuria Martines Vernis recites her poem will be projected.
