Ivorypress invites you to the presentation of “El Elefante Africano” by Lisette Pons on 20 June at 7:30 p.m. In this intimate edition, the photographer presents a work closely linked to her personal experience. Besides she analyses the issue of the survival of the great African elephant and of Maasai culture. Through profound immersion in silence and reflection, she investigates “evolution”.

Her work and creation of images in the darkroom take her on a journey through time and space, constantly in the presence of “the fragility of memory”. Her photographs shows us her long journey through photography.
This edition invites us to enjoy the results of the artist’s personal and professional evolution. Lisette Pons who, in her untiring quest, takes her photography one step further through her processing innovations and use of materials.
Lisette Pons. Born in Barcelona, 1955- Based in Mallorca.
After an extensive training in photography and developing in black and white, Lisette Pons begins a long career in photography that leads her to experiment with all the techniques and possibilities of the camera, as in the special features of the development process. Throughout her career, she had worked in the field of photojournalism, industrial photography, and advertising, events, portraiture and travel photography. She owned a color development laboratory, director of photography for an advertising agency. Her oeuvre has been published in several publishing houses. Nowadays, she works in her personal artistic work.
