Ivorypress invites you to the book launch of Andata e ritorno by Paolo Gasparini together with the screening of a video that accompanies the project. The event will feature contributions by journalist Juan Peces and professor and researcher Javier Ortiz Echagüe who will converse with the author about his latest book.
This new edition of Andata e Ritorno includes a short and personal history of the photobook written by Gasparini, design by Ricardo Báez and a particular constellation of poets, essayists and translators (Marco Menato, Silvio Mignano, Octavio Armand, Adalber Salas Hernández and Victoria Ballas Armas).
Paolo Gasparini (Gorizia, Italy, 1934) lives between Caracas, Mexico City and Trieste. He began his photographic activity at seventeen. In his extensive oeuvre, the author states: ‘The photobook is a work that through images—namely photographs, texts and graphic conception—develops and shapes a discourse, which reveals and articulates an author’s thinking as well as his or her ideas on a specific issue. A photobook is a symbiosis of expressive signs that—with the use of reason and aesthetic sense— enrich each other to inform about its content and understanding.’
