Photobook Club Madrid. Iconography of the Salpêtrière by Javier Viver

On 17 December at 7 p.m. Javier Viver presented his project Révélations. Iconographie de La Salpétrière in a new session of Photobook Club Madrid at Ivorypress.

The project compiles photographs extracted from the Iconographie Photographique de La Salpêtriere, one of the first photographic archives in the field of clinical psychiatry. After working intensively with more than four thousand photographs Javier Viver has produced a new compilation and edition of the iconography of the famous Parisian hospital. This contemporary reinterpretation began as a self-published project of which the author printed only ten copies. Editorial RM has now published a commercial version that has been beautifully edited by Javier Viver himself along with Gonzalo Golpe, whi will come to the event, and Horacio Fernández.
