Night of the Books 2012

Ivorypress presented the latest publication of the publishing house Nórdica Libros, “The wind begun to rock the grass”, by Emily Dickinson; which was followed by a poetry reading. Diego Moreno (publisher of Nórdica Libros), Kike de la Rubia (the book’s illustrator) and Juan Marqués (poet) will participate in the presentation. The American poet Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was an educated, intelligent and rebellious woman who built one of the most solid works of universal literature during her voluntary confinement in a room of her house in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Although her work is vast, Nórdica Libros has published a small book accompanied by the delicate illustrations of Kike de la Rubia, which invite us to enter the peculiar world of Dickinson and rest between each poem and illustration. After the presentation, Juan Marqués and Carmen Estévez (theatre actress) read some of the poems included in the selection in Spanish and English. From 21:00 pm the Jazz Trio Enclave, whose components are Pedro Cañada (piano), Fernando Lupano (bass) and Larry Martin (drums) gave a concert at Ivorypress.
