From 1 April to 28 May 2011 Ivorypress presented works on paper and photographs by Julião Sarmento (Lisbon, 1948). Sarmento developed an early language combining multimedia audio, video, painting, collage, sculpture and installations, but his plastic work, midway between painting and drawing, is the most characteristic. His recurrent themes are, among others, the complications of relationships, psychological interaction, sensuality or voyeurism.
