Sameer Makarius, whose work has marked great part of the history of art of Argentina of the second half of the XX century, took pictures between 1957 and 1967, of all his friends in their houses of workshops. Such pictures were taken with natural light, and actually, the original project was the publication of a book of portraits accompanied with descriptions written by the same protagonists. The prologues were written by Hugo Parpagnoli and Jorge Romero Brest. A selection of pictures and texts was exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires in 1967, in a memorable exhibition titled, El rostro del artista. Once we looked at all the material carefully kept during so many years, forty years later, we had no doubt as regards the artistic and documental value of said photographs and texts.
