Each generation of architects has rewritten history from its present, also developing a system of thought of its own. The corpus of the theory of architecture thus constitutes a multiplicity of theories, connected, in turn, by a multiplicity of historical relations. From this hypothesis, Atlas of architecture theory (s) retrieves the genuine meaning of the Greek voice “theoria” (visual act of speculation and contemplation, development of a vision) and offers three tools that challenge the reader to seek new orientations between fundamental documentary sources for the history of architectural theory, from the Renaissance to the present: the first, purely visual, is a collection of fertile images for reflection on architecture. The second is a series of essays (signed by Joan Ockman, Juan Miguel Hernandez Leon, Philip Ursprung, Davide Tommaso Ferrando, Léa-Catherine Szacka, Gerorges Teyssot and Rodrigo de la O) who reflect on the current situation of architectural theory. The third is a virtual platform that houses an open narrative formed by a wide collection of texts linked by hyperlinks, available at www.teoriasdearquitectura.com.
