Special event of TASCHEN collector’s editions and mulled wine at Ivorypress

15 / 12 / 2012

Ivorypress in collaboration with TASCHEN will be displaying collector’s books of the German publishing house to the public on Saturday 15 December.

The event will take place at Ivorypres, where TASCHEN’s most exclusive editions will be displayed. Limited edition books, signed by their authors: Nobuyoshi Araki, Albert Oehlen, Neo Rauch, Christopher Wool, Bettina Rheims, Marc Newson and Ellen von Umwerth, just to name a few. This is a unique opportunity to see, touch and acquire all of these books in a single space. Mulled wine will be served from 12:00 p.m.

Benedikt Taschen began his publishing career with the idea of making the book market more democratic and making quality art editions accessible. Constituted at the end of the 1980s, his company began to open subsidiaries around the world and continued to consolidate its reputation while exploring new areas such as architecture, design, photography, lifestyle and art classics. The TASCHEN brand, which globally distributes its works, translated into more than twenty languages, has become one of the most successful publishing houses in the international market. From 1999 TASCHEN also publishes large-format collector’s editions. Perhaps the most well-known of this series is the edition of Helmut Newton’s photographs entitled SUMO, a work that multiplied its market value in only a few years. A copy of this historical book will be exhibited along with the other available editions.
