Ivorypress at MASQUELIBROS. Booth 12

17 / 05 / 2013

From 17 to 19 May 2013 Ivorypress participated in the second edition of MASQUELIBROS, Madrid’s artist bookfair. This was be the first time that Ivorypress took part in this event to show their publications and artist’s books—both of their own editions and of projects by other national and international publishing houses and artists.

Artist’s books are the hallmark of Ivorypress’ publishing house and bookshop. Since its foundation in 1996 books, publishing on paper and contemporary creation have combined to give shape to a wide range of editorial projects. At our stand Ivorypress presented books from the LiberArs series, a collection of small-format artist’s books of authors such as Richard Long, Anselm Kiefer, Jannis Kounellis or Santiago Sierra.

Also on display was the book Becoming, by Chinese artist and architect Ai Weiwei, who is represented by Ivorypress Space in Spain. With a format that evokes the traditional Chinese photo album, the book provides a photographic journey of the construction of the new Beijing airport terminal, the largest covered structure in the world. Published by Ivorypress, it also includes interviews with the author and with Norman Foster, the architect of the terminal.
