SCREENING: ‘GRAY MATTERS’ BY MARCO ORSINI

On the occasion of the 15th Madrid Architecture week Ivorypress screened, on 2 October at 7 p.m., the documentary ‘Gray Matters’ (2014).

Directed by Marco Orsini the film explores the long, fascinating life and complicated career of architect and designer Eileen Gray, whose uncompromising vision defined and defied the practice of modernism in decoration, design and architecture.

Before the screening attendees could also visit the exhibition Welcome (To The Teknival) by Danish artist Kasper Akhøj, which consists of a documentation of Eileen Gray’s villa E-1027. In a research-based work that began in 2008, the artist recorded the restoration and resurrection of this modernist villa located on the Côte d’Azur.
